Main Exclusion Criteria
Participants will be excluded if they had already been randomly selected for inclusion to the Psychological Impact of Screening Study, a sub-study of ADDITION-Cambridge assessing the changes in anxiety, depression and related measures over 12 months among those invited to participate in diabetes screening compared with participants in the no-screening (control) practices (16). In addition, they will also not be invited to participate if they are no longer registered with a participating surgery, or deemed by their GP to be unable to complete the questionnaire unaided because of their physical or mental condition, e.g. if they have a terminal illness, a major psychiatric disorder or any other condition that may invalidate their consent or ability to fill in the questionnaire.
