Main Inclusion Criteria
(i) Established RA (at least 6 months treatment) who fulfil the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) classification (18).
(ii) Aged > 18 years at diagnosis (patients <18 years are generally considered not to have RA but to have juvenile idiopathic arthritis).
(iii) Adequate command of the English language is necessary to participate in the focus groups.
(iv) Willing and able to provide informed consent.
(v) Male or Female
(vi) We will not evaluate new referrals as these are not seen by RNPs in the community.
(vii) Consideration will be given to translating written material if necessary for participants whose first language is not English.
(viii) Willing and able to complete the questionnaires.
Main Exclusion Criteria
(i) Patients with concomitant severe medical problems and those with life threatening disease will not be included.
(ii) Patients unable to give informed consent will not be included.
(iii) Patients unwilling to take part in the assessment (either focus group or questionnaire) will not be included.
