Main Inclusion Criteria
Inclusion criteria for patients are: meeting ICD-10 criteria for a diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, seeing their consultant psychiatrist at least every three months, currently attending outpatients or being cared for by community mental health teams and capable of giving informed consent.
Inclusion criteria for psychiatrists
10 male and 4 female psychiatrists working in outpatient clinics or community mental health teams
Main Exclusion Criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients
Those with evidence of organic impairment (because this is a complicating factor in the presentation of mental disorder and is generally a reason for exclusion unless the study is specifically focussing on this as the main issue of investigation). Those requiring an interpreter.
