Research Summary
|
|
The rate of suicide in prisoners have been found to be consistently higher than in the genral population (Dooley 1990, Sattar 2001). This study is an extension of a study of suicide by prisoners conducted by the National Confidential Inquiry (NCI) into Suicide and Homicide by People with Mental Illness and is a case-controlled study. It is the first of its kind in prison research.
